The Clayburn Challenge Program is offered for gifted and talented students in grades 6, 7 & 8. It is a self-directed, project-based program that provides an opportunity for students to pursue advanced studies in their own area of interest or talent. The Challenge Program is designed with the unique learning needs of gifted students in mind.

The goals of the Challenge Program are to:

  • encourage abstract and critical thinking
  • introduce students to advanced study and research skills
  • use technology to enhance learning and achievement
Program News:
District Spaghetti Bridge Building Competition: Clayburn sent two teams of grade 8 students to compete in the district competition in March. Team Alpha placed third by building a bridge out spaghetti that was able bear a load of 1 kg for 60 seconds. Watch these clips of the teams hard at work:
Because of their third-place finish, Clayburn's team of Jesse, Bryce, and Tasha were invited to compete at the BC Skills Competition at Tradex in Abbotsford on April 22.
